Our stollen is nationally known and been featured in food magazines and on the Food Network. A fruitcake that’s not a fruitcake, stollen bread has been a German Christmas tradition since the Middle Ages. Like fruitcake every family has it’s own recipe – we’ve been perfecting ours since 1992; special spiced flour, butter, rum soaked dark and golden raisins, dates and pecans, a marzipan center and finished in “new snow” sugar.




★ Stollen

The tradition of Christmas stollen dates to 14th century Germany where it was made only at Christmas to celebrate the birth of Christ. Stollen continues to be a holiday favorite with families passing their own recipes from generation to generation. Slices of stollen can be enjoyed at breakfast, often warmed and spread with butter, and as an anytime snack or after meal dessert. Our stollen is made entirely by hand in small batches. Our unique recipe uses rum-soaked raisins, dates and pecans added to a dough of sweet butter and specially spiced flour. The mix is cut into rough loaves, hand-shaped and wrapped around a marzipan center then baked to a golden brown. When cooled, each loaf is brushed with melted butter and rolled in sugar and placed onto trays to rest. To finish, we roll the stollen in Neu Schnee, or New Snow sugar. Stollen improves with age and will stay fresh for several weeks stored in a dry pantry or for months in the refrigerator or freezer. Each loaf is packaged in our own decorative holiday box and delivered with your personal greeting. Stollen may be shipped UPS Ground anywhere in the continental US and Hawaii.
